Silymarin is a complex of flavonolignans (silybin A and B, isosilybin A and B, silicristin, silydianin) present in milk thistle seeds. It is one of the most studied plant compounds in scientific literature, with thousands of publications. 'Premium' versions on the market usually refer to higher standardizations (typically 80% silymarin or the use of bioavailability-enhancing technologies such as phytosomes).
