Silymarin is a complex of flavonolignans (a mixture of silybin A and B, isosilybin A and B, silychristin and silydianin) present in milk thistle seeds. It is one of the most studied plant compounds in scientific literature with several thousand publications. Silybin is the main flavonolignan and is usually considered the main marker of the standardized extract.
